Come Here…Come Here…Hey, Come Here…Phew
Come here”…”Bubba..Come Here”…”Come Here.” Sound familiar? How many of us plead with our Bulldogs to follow simple commands? After giving the “come here” command you stare into your dogs eyes and almost in an audible voice you hear your dog say, “Why” or “What’s in it for me” or just plain, “Do I look like I want to come here?” Well let me tell you that if your reading this article you are not alone.
English Bulldogs are known for being stubborn. They even look stubborn. Speaking from experience I know these dogs get set in their ways. Kind of like grumpy old men fighting over who will play the winner in a game of chess or poker, your bulldog will fight to get their way.
Don’t fret my friend. You are not a bad owner because your bully is stubborn. Bulldogs do like to please and will eventually follow directions if properly trained. When you ask them to do something and they do it reinforce them with a low-fat treat. This way you send them the message, “If you do what I say you get a treat.” Patience is the key here folks, they will listen to you….eventually.
