Just Got Back From the Breeder
So you just went to the breeder to pick up your new English Bulldog Puppy. At the house you have already stocked up for your new bully’s arrival. You spent more money than you know you should of on toys, nature’s miracle products, stainless steel feeding bowls, and a crate. As you anxiously drive away contemplating whether or not you just spent more money than you should of on this new friend you begin to daydream of what life is going to be like with your new bully.
You bring the dog into the house and he begins to sniff around and take in the new environment. Let him look around a bit. They will probably be even more nervous than you are. People are ready to come over and see the new fella. However, you tell them to come back in a few days while your puppy gets acquainted with his new home and family.
A day or two later you see that the puppy has become comfortable in his new surroundings. He even has accidents in the same place and tends to of found a place in the house where he feels right at home. People begin to come over and meet the little bully. They are overwhelmed by how cute and loving he is. After a while he begins to show signs that its time for the strangers and new found friends to leave. He starts acting shy and begins panting heavily. The puppy paces up and down the room and is acting nervous. At this point, you politely ask the strangers to leave. After they leave his panting slows down and he stops at his crate for a nice nap. He looks at you licks his nose and as if communicating with ESP he says, “Phew, that was interesting-now I’m gonna take a nap.”
After the first week your bully has become comfortable with you and a few of your friends. The appliances in the house don’t seem to bother him anymore. He begins to lay at your feet while you are munching on popcorn on the couch and licks them as if you sprayed a liver tasting spray on them. You stop watching T.V. and stare at your English Bulldog and think to yourself, “I don’t care how much he costs me, I love this dog.” You start anticipating the day you can show him off at the dog park parading your pedigree English Bulldog Puppy for all the world to see. You can’t wait for him to make friends with other bullies. It is truly a joy owning one of these lovable guys.
When you go lie down in your bed ready for bed you quickly get up and go check on him. As you look at him you see him snoring away and his little paws twitching as he dreams of playing tug-a-war with you. As you lay down to go to sleep you say your prayers and in the end you throw one in for your new bully. You lay down go to sleep and dream of all the fun you will have tomorrow with your bully.
